Kenton County Financial Transparency Portal *Update*

I recently spoke with Jessica Ramsey, Director of IT for Kenton County, after discovering that the County’s Financial Transparency Portal was no longer accessible.

She confirmed the portal had been discontinued due to compatibility issues with the County’s accounting software, and that outdated links remained on the website. I appreciate her immediate commitment to correcting those links and addressing the issue.

We also discussed OpenGov and other modern tools that could restore public access to clear, reliable financial information. As a candidate for County Commissioner, I believe residents should be able to easily see how public dollars are spent.

Kenton County’s IT team consists of just six professionals supporting the entire county — a reminder that transparency and modernization require sustained investment. As Commissioner, I will advocate for practical technology investments that improve transparency, strengthen public trust, and ensure county systems work for the people they serve.

I’m starting my campaign by identifying a clear opportunity to invest in a modern, transparent county government—starting with stronger investment in our IT team.
